Dear Heritage Friend,
In April 2009, Heritage Christian School celebrated its 40th Anniversary! For many of you former families and former staff, you remember the Heritage of years past, and were influential in helping Heritage grow and build. We thank God for that! To celebrate our 40-year milestone, we hosted a gala event at the McKinley Grand Hotel which included a silent auction and a live auction conducted by Kiko Auctioneers. We had over 300 attendees (including alumni and former families!) and raised over $20,000. It was such a blessing to be able to spend time with old friends and reminisce about our time at Heritage – while at the same time providing for the future of Heritage. Without the support of alumni, families and generous donations from business and community leaders, we would not have been able to provide more than 50 students with tuition assistance. We also were able to add two new practical course offerings for our middle school students – Home Economics and Home Repair.
On Saturday, March 27, 2010, we again will hold a silent and live auction. This year’s event will be at the Meyers Lake Ballroom. The auction theme is “Conquering the Future”. The committee has been hard at work making sure this year’s event will be as memorable as last year’s. Mark your calendars and save the date! Invite a friend to come along! Also consider a donation for our auction and/or consider donating a ticket to pay for a member of our deserving faculty.
Heritage is Canton’s only non-denominational K-12 Christian School. Heritage exemplifies the A-B-C’s of Christian education. A – Academic achievement: our students score an average of nine months ahead of grade level based on achievement tests. B – Bible based: the Bible and its teachings are incorporated into all curriculums. C – Community commitment: the students and faculty at Heritage demonstrate an ongoing commitment to serving the greater Canton community. Helping at local food pantries, spearheading food and clothing drives, making repairs to homes of those in need, and visiting the elderly are just some of the ways students reach out beyond our school walls to make a difference in the world. A critical part of each student’s education includes opportunities to serve our community.
We trust that your time at Heritage blessed your life. Heritage continues to invest in the future leaders of our community, with an emphasis toward improving the world in which we live for the glory of God. We’ve developed relationships with families, churches and community organizations in Stark, Tuscarawas, Wayne, Summit and Carroll counties. We invite you to help us continue to be a shining light in the city, and to preserve our mission of providing a firm foundation for the future of our youth. This event will help fund financial assistance for students, and allow additional updates and improvements to our facilities. As we look to our future, we urge you to join us in continuing the Conqueror legacy by supporting quality Christian education!
In Christ,
