Pledges

All students begin their day and all chapel services with the pledge to the American flag, the Christian flag, and the Bible.

Christian Flag:

I pledge allegiance to the Christian Flag and to the Savior, for whose Kingdom it stands

One Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe

Bible:

I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's Holy Word

I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path

I will hide its words in my heart, that I might not sin against God.

Declaration

Heritage K-7 students use this as a reminder of their purpose and to promote unity. (Inspired by Hope Academy's declaration).

I go to Heritage Christian School, A school where God is present.

I believe the Bible, God’s Holy Word. I make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

I hide its words in my heart that I might not sin against God. I love God and I love people

I see others through my Father’s eyes.

I love God with all of my heart, with all of my soul and with all of my mind.

Then, I love my neighbor as much as I love myself. Because of the grace of God, I can say “No” to ungodliness and I am eager to do what is good.

I listen and obey the first time, not the second time, but the first time.

I am made in the image of God my Creator, who loves me more than I can fathom.

I know that with God, all things are possible!

I can serve the Lord by being a doctor, a musician, a missionary, a parent, a coach, a business owner, a soldier, or an author. God’s mighty power can do immeasurably more than I can even ask or imagine.

The joy of the Lord is my strength, and I am more than a conqueror in life because Jesus loves me.

He gives me a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.

I was once in darkness, but now I am a light that shines into the world for the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Heritage Christian School began with a few dedicated families who met together in 1967 to explore the formation of a Christian school in Canton. They prayed and planned for a school where values taught in the classroom were consistent with godly values taught in the church and home. After researching different options, these parents were introduced to Mr. William Vimont of Christian Schools, Inc. of Seattle, who rallied support of churches.

In 1968, together with these families, Mr. Vimont founded our Heritage Christian School. Classes met in rented space in the Christian Tabernacle in Canton (now Faith Community Church), and Mr. Vimont served as headmaster over the first 62 students.

Over the next five years, Heritage more than tripled in size. With more than 200 students, the board expanded its athletic department, hired an athletic director and began an intramural sports program. After several years, they expanded to interscholastic athletics.
